RUBEN HERNANDEZ
Ruben F. Hernandez Sr., 73, of Munday, passed away peacefully on Jan. 19, 2024. A graveside service was held at the Rochester Cemetery, Deacon Mike Hernandez officiated under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes, Rochester. Rosary was held at St. George Catholic Church in Haskell, Thursday, Jan. 25, 2024.
Ruben was born in Stanton, on Feb. 9, 1950 and resided in Munday, at the time of his death. Throughout his life, Ruben had a passion for spending time with his family and friends, he loved fishing, loved his cold beer, listening to some good o’ music and cooking out. Ruben worked most of his life as a farmer. For the past three years, he worked for J-D Wrecker in Munday.
Ruben was preceded in death by his parents Andres and Carmen Hernandez; sisters Maria Leal and Gloria H. Susa; and numerous nephews.
Those left to cherish his memories include the mother of his children Joann Hernandez of Midland; children Benny Hernandez (Monica Reyes) of Odessa, Connie Salinas of Midland, Ruben Hernandez Jr. (Emealda) of Midland, Bobby Hernandez (Maggie) of Midland, DCN Mike Hernandez (Dee-Ann) of Midland, Sandra Olgin (Ruben) of Midland; grandchildren Sebastian, Nehemiah, Alexander, Andrew, Mathias, Katalina, Beniah, Carmen, Mariza, Samantha, and Victor; great-grandchildren Jason, Wyatt, Noelle, Emily, Ezra, Josiah, and baby Almanza; sisters Guadalupe Lomeli (Leo Salinas) of Rochester, Gregoria DelaCruz of Hamlin, Janie Carrillo of San Antonio; brothers Robert Hernandez (Emma) of Rochester, Andres Hernandez Jr. (Maria) of Rochester; and numerous nieces and nephews.
