Lloyd Douglas Thompson, 66, of Munday passed away Sunday, Feb. 24, 2019. Doug was born May 27, 1952 in Vernon, TX to Dick and Mary Thompson.
Doug loved spending time with his family, riding motorcycles, playing guitar and music of any kind. He enjoyed boating and lake life. He was known to many as “Captain.”
He was preceded in death by father Dick, brother Danny, grandparents Momma Ola and Daddy Hub, uncle Carroll, aunt Alvie, uncle Sam, sister-in-law Jana Thompson and a host of family there to meet him.
Doug is survived by two sons Douglas Thompson of Haskell and Dennis and wife Katie of Tennessee; one daughter Katelyn Duke and husband Brandon of Georgia, mother Mary Thompson of Munday; two brothers Don Thompson of Munday and Sam Dennis of Clarendon; one sister Deryenda Thompson of Munday; grandchildren Cole, Jenny, Jaxon, Kaleb Thompson and Raelynn Duke and one more grandchild on the way; plus several nephews, lots of cousins, family and friends.
A visitation was held Wednesday at the funeral home in Munday. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the church of Christ in Munday with Gary Hubbard officiating. Interment will follow in Johnson Memorial Cemetery under the direction of McCauley-Smith Funeral Home.
