Dr. Peter Francis Paul McKay, 61, passed away at Hendricks Medical Center in Abilene on Oct. 8,2019.
Born in Indianapolis, IN Oct. 3, 1958, Peter’s mission in life was to help people. He fulfilled multiple dreams in one lifetime. He was a mechanic, a pilot, an amazing musician (guitar, fiddle, singer, song writer) and Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine in too many cities and states to list. The last three years he practiced and lived in Knox City. Texas became his home, with family, friends, church etc.
Peter loved to help and serve others. Dr. Pete got a kick out of everyone including his wife when she met him when they didn’t know he was a Doctor because he just treated everyone the same as he wanted. Peter loved the Lord with all his heart, and his family/friends so much. He will always be in the hearts of those who loved him. All he ever wanted was to make a difference in this world before and after his death and he achieved that.
He was proceeded in death by his parents Robert and Zita McKay and his sister Kellie (McKay) Nichols. He is survived by his wife Sarah Kennedy; children Jessie (Babak) Loghmani, Joshua, Katherine; step- children Michael and Aloura Kennedy; grandchildren Robert, Gavin, Xander and Ayden McKay, Saman and Sasha Loghmani; sister Elaine (Preston) Hobbie; and brother Michael (Geri) McKay as well as many other family and friends nationally.
A memorial service will be at Knox City FourSquare Church, 221 E. Main St. Knox City, Tx 79529, on Nov. 3 at 2 p.m. and fellowship/refreshments will be held following.
