Jim Reid opens new restaurant
in Knox City.
KNOX CITY—Knox City and Knox County residents have another eating establishment with the recent opening of Reid’s BBQ and Catfish here just across the street from the Knox County Hospital.
Jim Reid, who retired as minister at First Baptist Munday a year ago and moved to O’Brien, and wife Shirley have opened the restaurant that will serve from 11 a.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.
Reid, who also preached at the O’Brien Baptist Church, is familiar with small restaurants since his mother had a small hamburger place in Stamford when he was growing up.
“My wife and I are excited about the opportunity to serve the community,” Reid said.
Customers will have a choice of smoked brisket, ribs, pulled pork, ham, chicken or sausage or fried Mississippi farm-raised catfish plus sides.
