Yolanda (Acosta) Casillas, 65, a longtime resident of Knox City, passed away Thursday, January 2, 2020. A Mass of Christian Burial was held Tuesday at Santa Rosa Catholic Church in Knox City with Father John Perikomalayli officiating. Burial followed at Knox City Cemetery under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes. A rosary was held Monday at the funeral home, 210 Ave A., Knox City.
Yolanda was born Jan. 9, 1954 in Haskell to Alicia (Rosales) and Ray Acosta, Sr. She married Edmond Casillas in 1972 in Haskell and they enjoyed a long happy marriage. Yolanda loved gardening, sewing, and music of all types.
She is survived by her husband Edmond Casillas; two sons Edmond Ray Casillas, and Paul Phillip Casillas; one daughter Laurie Casillas; two granddaughters Destiny Casillas, and Addison Hill; two sisters Alice Fuentes, and Elaine Bradford; three brothers Enrique Acosta, Julio Acosta, Robert Acosta; uncles and aunts Ramon and Freddie Acosta, Ruben Rosales, Lita Lugo, Eva Martinez and Irenia Perez; and numerous nieces, and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother Alicia Acosta, father Ray Acosta, Sr.; and brother Reynaldo Acosta, Jr.
