BENJAMIN—The Knox County Historical Commission and the Friends of KCHC will host its annual fundraiser on Sunday, Feb. 9 here at the Benjamin Ex-Students Building.
Brisket is being added to the menu that will also include: sausage, turkey, pinto beans, coleslaw, potato salad, homemade pies, bakery bread, tea and coffee. Serving will begin at 11 a.m. and continue until 1:30 p.m.
Door prizes will be given at intervals during that time, plus there will be a silent auction ending at 1:30. The silent auction is always popular and a large group of items are expected to be available to bidders. Items for the auction may be brought to the museum any afternoon, Monday thru Friday between the hours of 1-5 p.m.
“This event is the largest fundraiser for the year and we invite everyone to come join us for a great meal, good prizes and lots of visiting while helping our purpose of being here, preserving Knox County history,” said Mary Jane Young.
On Feb. 9, the museum will be open from noon until 3 p.m. Regular hours are 1-5 p.m. Monday through Friday and by appointment at other times.
