Tamara Penny, 48, of Munday passed away Jan. 29 at United Regional Hospital in Wichita Falls after 16 days of complications of pneumonia.
Graveside rites were held Monday at Eastview Cemetery in Vernon, under the direction of the Sullivan Funeral Home, with Dan Offutt of Munday officiating and Ray Mullins leading songs selected by her mother.
Tamara was born May 16, 1971, moving with her parents Betty and James McAfee to Tulsa, OK and Westport, CT and Trumbull, CT before returning to Carrollton and Rowlett growing up. She attended Garland High School and Lakeview Centennial High School and Eastview College.
Tamara worked in the hotel service business for many years and for a film maker for a short time, remembering fondly about appearing in a crowd scene in the JFK movie in Dallas.
In addition to her parents, she was survived by daughter Sarah Penny of Sachse; sons Emory Penny of Greenville and Brandon Penny of Richardson; sisters Jamie McAfee of Haskell, Lorri Young of Richardson and Tina Stivers of Azle; and brother Terry McLaughlin of Vernon.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Rathgeber Hospitality House in Wichita Falls (940 764-2400)
