KNOX CITY—Knox County residents will get a chance to hear from local candidates when the Knox County Republican Party hosts a “Meet the Candidates” program at 10 a.m. here Saturday at the Bill Baker Auditorium.
Appearing will be 50th District Judge candidates Jennifer Habert and Lina Trevino; Knox County sheriff candidates Hunter Embesi and Johnny Ivie; Knox County commissioners candidates Johnny McCown from Pct. 1 and Ray Herring from Pct. 3; and District Attorney candidate Hunter Brooks.
Each candidate will have a chance to speak about his or her background, qualifications and tell why they are running for office. A question and answer session will follow.
A town hall meeting is scheduled at 6 p.m. that same day at the Community Center in Quanah. Candidates for the District 13 position left vacant with the retirement of Rep. Mac Thornberry attending will be Elaine Hayes, Rich Herman, Jason Foglesong, Vance Snider, Josh Winegarner, Mark Neece, Lee Harvey, Mark McCarther and Diane Knowlton
