Munday Mogulettes wrap up 16-1A title with narrow win over Crowell
From The News-Courier staff—
MUNDAY—The Munday Mogulettes clinched the District 16-1A basketball championship last Friday night, improving to 9-0 with a narrow 41-39 victory over the Northside Lady Indians. This earned them a bye in the first round of the playoffs.
“I am proud of the way these girls have stepped up to every challenge they have faced this year, said Coach Richard Ramsey. “The way the seven of them have come together as a team and seeing them grow each and every day is a tremendous sight to see.
“We accomplished the goal of winning a district championship, but still have work that needs to be done. We are still working on getting better every day and fixing the little things.”
Earlier in the week, the Mogulettes raced to a 67-16 win over the Chillicothe Lady Eagles.
The Mogulettes were scheduled to travel to Lingleville Tuesday night before finishing 16-1A play Friday on the road against the Crowell Lady Wildcats, who are involved in a three-way fight for second place with Northside and Benjamin as all three have lost three district games.
