BENJAMIN—Knox County voters will have a choice to make for the Republican party’s candidate for sheriff and the 50th District judge post in the March 3 primary election.
Sheriff Hunter Embesi, a former deputy who was appointed earlier in the year, will face off against Johnny Ivie for sheriff.
Current Knox County Attorney Lina Trevino and current 50 th District Attorney Jennifer Habert are campaigning for judge.
Current tax assessor-collector Mitzi Welch and current Precinct 1 commissioner Johnny McCown will be unopposed as the Republican candidate.
Ray Herring will be the Republican candidate for the Precinct 3 position, running against current commissioner Jimmy Urbanczyk, the Democrat party candidate.
