Daniel, Barrientez, Redder, White, Bowman honored

Munday senior Cameron Thornton claimed District 16-1A boys basketball MVP honors while his Coach Adrian Daniel, who guided the Moguls to the district title, was selected as Coach of the Year.
In addition, Knox County dominated the other awards as Munday senior Kameron Redder was named the defensive MVP, Benjamin senior Jalen Barrientez the offensive MVP, Benjamin freshman Brody White the newcomer of the year and Munday freshman Jaxon Bowman the 6th man award.
Named to the first team all-district were junior Gilbert Trevino, junior Anthony Hernandez and junior Austin Hacker of Knox City; junior Kelton Carver of Munday; Tylan Hildenbrand of Northside; and junior Seth Bearden, junior Jamal Lane and senior Colt Gerhardt of Crowell.
Named to the second team were senior Braden Garza, sophomore Dal Everson and freshman Mario Silva of Benjamin; junior Sam Barnard and senior Abraham Nevarez of Knox City; sophomore JoJo Hernandez of Munday; junior Will Thomas and junior Cody Spangler of Northside; and sophomore Harold Chapman and junior Kolby Carroll of Crowell.
Honorable mention honors went to junior JJ Depippo and senior Dylan Kuehne of Knox City; Zane Parton of Munday; senior Kagen Welch, senior Christian Espinosa and senior Kennon Bria of Northside; senior Caleb Smith and senior Simon Rodriquez of Crowell; and senior Mason Belcher of Chillicothe.
Barrentez, White, Garza, Everson and Adrian Barraza of Benjamin were academic all-district picks along with Hacker, Trevino, Hernandez, Depippo, Nevarez, Tres Frausto and Tyler Delosrios of Knox City and Redder and Bowman of Munday.
