Enedina Castorena

Enedina Hernandez Castorena 80, of Goree, went to be with her Savior Jesus Christ and beloved husband Jesus Castorena on Sunday March 29, 2020

She was born on May 14, 1939 in El Aguaje de Garcia San Luis Potosi, Mexico to Santiago Hernandez and Cenovia Bueno Saldaña.

She accepted Christ, served as a Guadalupana and was a parishioner of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. Prior to raising her eight children she was a migrant worker. She was a good cook, especially her tamales. It brought joy to her to share her tamales with others. She enjoyed Sunday mornings after mass and holidays when her children came home to visit, and she could cater their favorite meals.

She was proceeded in the death by her parents, her husband Jesus Castorena, and siblings Maria Pineda, Isidro Hernandez and Dorotea Hernández Bueno.

She left a sad void in her children and family. Survivors include children Jesus Castorena of Goree, Jose Castorena of Knox City, Jimmy Castorena of Munday, Dolores Ozuna and husband Tony of Irving, Mary Elena Nunez of Goree, Angelica Campbell and husband Jeff of Grand Prairie, Freddie Castorena and wife Graciela of Abilene and Osiel Castorena of Goree; brothers Ricardo and Refugio Hernandez, sisters Socorro, Elia and Librada Hernandez, all of Mexico. She left a legacy to be missed by many but mainly her 23 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
