WASHINGTON—Sen. John Cornyn announced last Friday that the two public housing programs in Knox County will receive federal grants to help with coronavirus related improvement as part of the CARES Act signed into law last month.
Knox City will receive $11,985 and Munday $17,052.
The grants may be used for resident support services; routine and preventative maintenance; safety and security; management and operations, including staff; energy costs; insurance; debt service incurred to finance rehabilitation and development; planning for long-term capital needs and viability of the property; and other costs.
Cornyn said the coronavirus outbreak has hit Texas hard and he was grateful to the Trump administration for making it a priority.
