By James McAfee/The Knox County News-Courier—
A pair of “eggings” by mischievous unidentified individuals forced a delay until Tuesday for the opening of the swimming pool in Knox City to allow city workers to make the necessary repairs to scrape and re-paint.
Brittany Lowe reported the reward for identifying who did the damage had been increased to $500.
Repairs continued for the swimming pool in Munday and it was scheduled to open June 13.
Thanks to generous donors in each city, free swimming will be offered this summer during the hours of 1-5 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays and 2-6 p.m. on Sundays. The pools will be closed Mondays.
Anyone wishing to rent the pools for special events at other times should contact Lowe at 940-203-1741.
Lowe announced that she will be assisted as lifeguards by Amy Schnable, Tres Frausto and Dylan Kuehne at Knox City and by John Mark Cooke, Dustin Cottingham, Madelyn Mendoza and Zane Parton at Munday.
Lowe also added that the pools will follow state guidelines for pool capacity.
