From The News-Courier staff—
Early voting for the July 14 runoff election is scheduled June 29 until July 10 at the Knox County Courthouse from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. Monday through Friday except for July 3 when it will be closed for holiday. Wearing a mask will be required.
July 2 will be the last day to apply for a ballot by mail.
On July 14, precincts 101 and 202 will cast votes at the Knox County Aging Center in Knox City; precincts 201 and 202 at the Wichita Brazos Museum; precincts 301 and 401 at Munday City Hall between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m.
Republicans will decide between Josh Winegarner and Ronny Jackson to replace the retiring Mac Thornberry for the 13th Congressional seat. Winegarner has gotten the support of Thornberry because of his local ties while Jackson has been endorsed by President Donald Trump.
Meanwhile, Democrats now pick between Gus Trujillo and Timothy Gassaway to see who runs against that winner after Greg Sager withdrew for health reasons after finishing second in the primary.
In runoff elections, voters must cast their ballots for the same party they did in the primary. However, they do not have to decide a party prior to the general election and can vote across party lines.
