KNOX CITY—Retiring Knox City-O’Brien Consolidated Independent School District trustees Scott Lynn and Dale Turner were honored with a meal and ceremony in the KCHS cafeteria following the board’s meeting last week.
Turner served 31 years, May 1988 through May 2019, and Lynn served 24 years, May 1996 through May 2020.
“Both are great men who have served their community longer than many people have lived here,” said Superintendent Colin Howeth. “They have always put the students of the district in the forefront of their decision-making and for that they deserved to be honored,”
During the business meeting, the trustees approved trust bids issued by Knox County and paid all monthly bills.
Following the ceremony and meal, Howeth guided the group to the gym to show them the new floor and the progress of the access entry system that is currently being installed.
