MUNDAY—Dr. Randall Sloan, who has experience in family practice and emergency medicine, will open his medical practice in August at 341 West H Street.
Sloan, board certified in emergency medicine with more than 30-years experience, was previously on the staff at the Knox County Hospital and will maintain his staff privileges as well as his directorship of the Brazos Valley Care Home in Knox City.
According to Sloan, he will care for minor emergencies and serve one patient at a time to make it safer for patients.
“This will reduce the risk of infectious diseases like COVID-19,” Sloan said.
Sloan plans to offer a variety of ways to diagnose patients.
“The addition of computer-assisted evaluations will add an objective tool to diagnose patients,” he said. “There will be a full-service lab, using a nationally recognized reference lab. Special programs will be instituted for chronic health problems.”
In addition, Sloan said house calls will be part of the practice, adding this has become common place in Dallas and Fort Worth.
Sloan also is a trained and certified to offer injections of botox. If there is a demand for osteopathic manipulation for musculoskeletal problems, it will be available. And chronic pain patients will be treated on a limited basis if they meet certain criteria.
“Our hope is to provide a great service and one-on-one care in a safe environment,” Sloan said. “We wish to improve the health and wellbeing of each patient.”
Sloan said he will make sure he sees anyone in need of medical assistance.
“Patients will not be turned away because of inability to pay,” he said. “We will see each patient regardless of ability to pay. We wish to serve the community, will assist with prescriptions and always strive to help each patient equally.”
During July, he will be available if anyone needs assistance and can be reached at either 940-203-3578 or 940-422-5779.
