SEYMOUR—Hunter Brooks of Seymour has been appointed District Attorney for the 50th Judicial District in Baylor, Cottle, King and Knox County by Gov. Greg Abbott.
Brooks’ term is set to expire Dec. 31, 2020, or until a successor shall be duly elected and qualified.
Brooks, a member of the State Bar of Texas, was sworn in by his grandfather John Brooks, an attorney in Wichita Falls, on June 22, 2020, in the Baylor County Courtroom.
Currently an assistant DA in Wichita Falls, Brooks ran unopposed in the Republican primary in March.
Brooks earned his Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Midwestern University in Wichita Falls and a Juris Doctor degree from the Oklahoma City University School of Lawton in Oklahoma City, Okla.
