From The News-Courier staff—
BENJAMIN—Knox County Clerk Lisa Cypert was “surprised” at the early turnout for the July 15 runoff election, reporting that her office had received 72 votes—27 residents who voted early by July 10 here at the Knox County Courthouse and 45 who cast mail-in votes.
As expected, 60 of the voters cast ballots in the Republican runoff between Ronny Jackson and Josh Winegarner and 12 in the Democratic runoff between Greg Sagan and Gus Trujillo.
With this issue of the newspaper going to press Monday night, results from Tuesday’s election will be posted on the News-Courier Facebook page and in next week’s issue.
