MUNDAY—Dakota Wakefield, most recently serving in Fisher County, joined the Munday Police Department
last Monday.
“I’m glad to have him,” said Police Chief Chris Mendoza, who has had to handle police duties with limited help from Knox County Sheriff Hunter Embesi for the past three months.
“I’m looking forward to living here and serving the community,” Wakefield said.
He’ll be joined here by wife Shannon and children
Taven (5), Karley (4) and Amyiah (5 months).
Wakefield graduated from the West Texas Council of Government (WTCOG) academy in 2017 and previously worked in Knox City for 17 months in 2018-2019 before moving to Fisher County.
He was born and raised in nearby Rotan and graduated from Roby High School in 2012.
