Leola Eddington

Leola “Dimple” Eddington,
76, a long-time resident
of Knox City, passed away
Tuesday, Aug. 18, 2020. A
funeral service was held Saturday,
Aug. 22, at the Liberty
Church of God in Christ in
Knox City with Rev. Gene
Ward officiating. Burial followed
Knox City Cemetery
under the direction of Smith
Family Funeral Homes.

Leola Eddington, better
known as “Dimple” was born
Sept. 28, 1943, in Waco, to
Leamon and Cleola Ware.

Leola moved to Knox
City at an early age with her
mother, where she attended
school at McGee Ward and
later obtained her GED. She
was also a faithful member of
Liberty COGIC, where she
taught Sunday school.

She was a cook and
housekeeper on the Bateman
Ranch, and then later
worked as a housekeeper at
Brazos Valley Care Home
where she received her
CNA. She also worked at
the Munday Nursing Center
for several years.

Leola leaves behind to
cherish her memories daughters;
Gayle (Paul) McGee of
Tyler, Sharon Kay (Nelson)
Hawkins of Knox City, Stella
Ward of Alaska, Stacy Eddington
of Haskell and Lynelle
Roberson of DeSoto;
son Alfred (BB) Eddington,
15 grandchildren and a host
of great grandchildren, nieces,
nephew, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death
by her parents, brother Lloyd
Ware, sister Cozetta Mayes,
son Tim Roberson and
daughter Marilyn Hodges.
