KNOX CITY—Knox County residents have a new place to eat at L&L Café, which opened its doors last Thursday at 502 S. Ave. F, across the street from the emergency room at the Knox County Hospital.
“We just felt the city needed a different kind of food, some home-style cooking,” said Juli Ledesma, co-owner with mother Brenda Larned, thus the L&L connection.
“Mom and dad had a pizza restaurant in Benjamin when I was younger,” Ledesma recalled. “Mom also had Brenda Jo’s Restaurant 13 or 14 years ago where Bud’s Restaurant is now located.”
The restaurant will be open for in-person dining and drive-thru takeout service 6 a.m. until 8 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 6 a.m. until 3 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
Breakfast plates and burritos will be offered early along with daily lunch plates, ranging from chicken fried steak and steak fries to fajitas, plus hamburgers and grilled cheese sandwiches. Sunday lunch plates will include a dessert.
