From LK Media Group—
LUFKIN—LK Media Group announced that Jackie Zimmerman has assumed the position of publisher of all its newspapers, including The Knox County News-Courier, effective Aug. 17, replacing Bruce Green.
Zimmerman, a former city editor with the Lufkin Daily News who also has an ad agency in Lufkin, previously was serving as managing editor of all the papers.
“She has already made great improvements within the company,” said Stormi Pressley Clifton, director of operations & design.
“Bruce has taken on more responsibilities within his career here in Lufkin,” Clifton added. “He will be focusing on those going forward. We have learned a lot from him, and it has been a pleasure to work with him. We wish him only the best in his career.”
Green had written a weekly column “Between the Line” that appeared in The News-Courier for the past nine months.
“I am excited for the opportunity to work with James and Vonda,” Zimmerman said. “Each of the newspapers has its own style, and we intend to maintain the individuality of each newspaper while growing the coverage.
“We want to continue to bring local and timely news to the residents.”
Other newspapers in the LK group are The Red River Sun, The Floyd County Hesperian-Beacon and the Post Dispatch.
