SEYMOUR—One man was killed in an accident between a truck and Greyhound bus at the intersection of Highway 277 E and Highway 183 S east of Seymour last Monday afternoon.
Officials reported James Dayton Jones of Amarillo dead at the scene.
Jones was one of 29 passengers on the Greyhound bus that was traveling from Denver to Dallas that was struck by the pickup driven by Tyrone Phillips of Munday and the bus rolled over on its side.
Two other passengers were taken by helicopter to United Regional Hospital in Wichita Falls and one was flown to a Fort Worth hospital. Sgt. Dan Buesing said all three were alive on Friday and that others cared for at hospitals had all returned home.
Phillips was taken to the Seymour Hospital with non-life threating injuries and was back at his business Friday morning, walking with a limp, said News-Courier Editor James McAfee.
Multiple emergency crews, including the Knox County Fire and EMS, were at the scene of the accident that is still under investigation.
