Johnnie Pearl Smith
Johnnie Pearl (Carver) Smith, 92, went to be with our Lord after a long battle with Alzheimers and Covid. Johnnie was born June 21, 1928 to Carl and Vera Mae Carver. She married Bill Ray Smith Sept. 20, 1947.
She attended school at O’Brien and lived in Hutto. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Munday.
She was a homemaker and worked at Lowery’s Department Store. She was an avid gardener and loved planting and tending to her yard and flowers. She spent many hours in the kitchen doing what she loved, cooking meals for family gatherings on the holidays.
Johnnie was preceded in death by her parents, husband Bill and son Gary Carver.
She is survived by her sons Glenn Smith and wife Carolyn of Stamford and Fred Strickland and wife Bobbie of Brownwood. Also, six grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 13 great-great grandchildren.
Graveside services were held Monday, Oct. 12, 2020 at Johnson Memorial Cemetery with Brother Wesley Clark officiating under the direction of McCauley-Smith Funeral Home.
