Hello again! After another couple of days in Seymour Hospital, I’m feeling much better. My sodium went too low, and although it’s still low, it’s better and I’m hoping it will continue to improve. Otherwise, things are going pretty well.
As usual most of the news is old; just can’t seem to strike a happy medium. But maybe it will be news to some folks.
I was sorry to learn of the death of Sammy Tipton of St. Jo. He and his family were very good friends of ours, and although I knew he had not been too well, I had no idea he was as bad as he was. His funeral was last week in Sanger. After they bought the Driver place, we always enjoyed their visits when they came our way. He will be missed.
Also I learned Wednesday of the death of Parker New on Tuesday. He had been ill a couple of weeks. He graduated with our class of ’54, and we always maintained our class relationship. A memorial service is planned for later.
Today has been a cooler day than the past few days. Was terribly foggy this morning, but by midmorning it was gone. The weather changes quite often here in Texas.
My sympathy to Kay Pepper and her family this week. Their mom Roberta Walton passed away last week. Although I did not know her well, she was always kind and gracious when we did meet. She will be missed by many family and friends.
I did not know until I got this week’s paper of the deaths of Glen Amerson and Jerry Johnson. Of course, I send sympathy to both these families. Jerry refereed lots of games for us when our kids were younger, and like all parents, we saw everything he called as wrong. However, that was just part of the “territory.” Both of these men will be missed.
Dennis Duke told me he enjoyed a weekend fly fishing trip recently with several family members and had some good luck. He said the choppy waters made him seasick, but otherwise all went well and they all enjoyed it.
The election is over but still no solid results. It just seems we can’t all get on the same page about it all. Regardless of who wins, we need to support the winner.
Did you have many trick or treaters Saturday? We had a few, but some here in town had 50 or 60 little spooks stop by. Bet they all had fun.
I just learned of the death of Mike Young. He was in the Seymour Care Home and had not been well for quite some time. A memorial service is planned for later.
