Robert George Hosea was born Aug. 26, 1928 in Rising Star, to Nathan Everton and Beulah Pollock Hosea and passed away Nov. 11, 2020 in Dallas. Robert was a 1945 graduate of Munday High School. He and Anita Louise Robison were married Oct. 28, 1950 in Haskell.
Robert joined the United States Army on Nov. 10, 1950 and served during the Korean War until Oct. 23, 1952. He served in the 196th Regimental Combat Team in Alaska. After his time in the Army, he worked at the Department of Transportation for 39 years.
Robert was very involved in the community including being a deacon of the First Baptist Church in Munday, delivered Meal on Wheels, was a member of the Munday Volunteer Fire Department, was on the Johnson Cemetery Association Board, The Munday Housing Authority Board and the Munday ISD School Board. He was a little league coach for many years and called Bingo at Munday Nursing Center. He enjoyed competing in the Senior Games later in his life. He also enjoyed dancing, throwing washers, horseshoes and corn hole.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife Anita Hosea, brother Everton B. Hosea and grandson Tyler Ford.
Robert is survived by; children Jan Wilson of Falfurruas, Carol Hosea of Boyd, Mike Hosea and wife Catherine of Seymour, Amy Hosea of Munday; grandchildren Sarah (Cody) Geis, Cory (Jenifer) Wilson, Nathan Gallagher, Breanna Schump, Emily Gallagher, Deana Lopez, Paige (Caleb) Sorrells, Mallory Hosea and Eric Hosea; also, four great-grandchildren.
A visitation was held on Saturday, Nov. 14th, 2020 at the funeral home in Munday. Graveside services were held Sunday, Nov. 15, 2020 at Johnson Memorial Cemetery under the direction of McCauley-Smith Funeral Home.
