The Knox County Child Welfare Board will continue its Angel Tree program, allowing county residents to help children have a special Christmas.
The Munday and Knox City-Benjamin chapters have collected wish lists from deserving children and placed names on Christmas trees at Casablanca and First Bank Texas in Munday and Citizens Bank in Knox City.
In addition, Angel Tree names were distributed to the churches in Munday.
“Your generosity of taking an angel and shopping for the child will bring a huge smile to each child’s face Christmas morning,” said Angela Young, the office manager in Munday.
When you select an angel, it is suggested that you purchase at least one set of clothing as well as a toy from the wish list for that child. Then take your unwrapped gift labeled with the angel’s number to Munday Tire and Appliance in Munday or Citizens Bank in Knox City by Dec. 10.
If anyone would like to help, but may be unable to shop, monetary donations are accepted at First Bank Texas and Citizens Bank, given to board members or mailed to Box 123, Knox City, TX 79529 or Box 594, Munday, TX 76371. Board members will complete the shopping.
Members of the Munday chapter are Debbie Pankhurst, Tina Myers, Marie Gonzales, Christel Shahan and Young.
Members of the Knox City-Benjamin chapter are Marsha Quade, Kathy Rainwater, Sharon Wainscott, Tammy Gonzales and Christie Howeth.
