Knox City will send Blackburn to academy

KNOX CITY—The City Council of Knox City approved sending William Blackburn of Haskell to the police academy during its regular monthly meeting last Tuesday. After graduation, Blackburn will join the city’s police department.
Currently, Police Chief Richard Candelario is seeking a deputy after Paul Davis left the department to move to Seymour.
Mayor Gene Ward and aldermen Kevin Urbanczyk, Kent Deville and Fred Ledesma were sworn in after being selected in the recent election.
