MUNDAY—There’s a new place in town to find food thanks to Brenda Johnson and Ray Herring.
They have opened the Smok’n Pit BBQ food truck at 820 Main Street, beside Herring Insurance, serving brisket and pulled pork plus hamburgers from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. each Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.
“Because Munday has very few restaurants, I decided to open a food truck,” Johnson said.
“I have also been involved at the Houston Rodeo for the last 20 years and have enjoyed every minute of serving people,” she added. “I know the importance of great BBQ and an awesome hamburger.”
Herring, who will be sworn in as the Knox County Pct. 3 commissioner in January, serves as the cook.
