Josephine “Josie” Lewis, 76, a lifelong resident of Knox County, passed away, Saturday, Dec. 12, 2020. A funeral service was Dec. 18, 2020 at the Foursquare Church, Knox City with Rev. Gary Schnable officiating. Burial followed the service at Knox City Cemetery under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes.
Josie was born Dec. 21, 1943 in Knox County to Ida (Rogers) and John Reynolds. She married Sterling Lewis in February of ’74. She loved working as a nurse, gardening and her cats.
She is survived by her daughter Nonie Maston; husband Greg of Seymour; son Clint Lewis and wife Lacey Pierce of Knox City; step daughter Patricia Deering of Seymour; step sons Danny Lewis and wife Amber of Knox City, Troy Lewis and wife Sheri of Lubbock, Todd Lewis and wife Missy of Haskell, Shane Lewis of Seymour; grandchildren Gary Lee Manley, Sarah Jo Johnson, Daren Johnson, Bobby Johnson, Carson Lewis, Cason Lewis, Calen Lewis; great grandchildren Hunter, Arian, Halton, Abrie, Tristan, Micaela, a whole slew of others; and brother, Billy Joe Reynolds of Vernon.
She was preceded in death by her parents John and Ida Reynolds; husband Sterling Lewis; son Danny Jack Johnson; brothers Claud Reynolds, J.B. Reynolds, Thomas “Shorty” Reynolds; and sisters Mary Francis Brieden and Belle Rogers.
