MUNDAY—Knox County youngsters will be showing their animals when the annual Knox County Junior Livestock Show is held here Friday and Saturday at the Munday Event Center.
Participants can begin moving in their sheep, goats and swine at 3 p.m. on Friday. Weigh-in starts at 5 p.m. and the show gets under way at 9 a.m. Saturday.
The FFA groups will operate the concession stand only on Saturday.
Competitors must have their projects in place by 8:30 a.m. for the project show that was added to the event two years ago. Judging begins at 9 a.m. Projects will be on display until 11 a.m. Saturday.
In addition, a skillathon contest, where the participants can showcase their knowledge of the livestock industry, will also be held starting at 10 a.m. Friday with registration scheduled for 9:30 a.m. The contest is open to all youths in the county enrolled in 4-H or FFA, even those without entries in the livestock or projects contests.
The annual event is a collaborative effort of the Knox County Junior Livestock Association, the FFA groups and the schools, the Knox County 4-H and the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service of Knox County.
