BENJAMIN—The Benjamin Mustangs are headed to the playoffs for the first time in three seasons after earning a hard fought 62-60 victory over the Crowell Wildcats in their regular season finale last Tuesday.
As the No. 3 seed in District 16-1A with a 6-4 record, the Mustangs will play Rotan (14-6) in bi-district at 6 p.m. Friday in Stamford.
The Yellowhammers finished second in District 15-1A at 10-2, falling out of a share of first place with a 57-43 loss to third-place Aspermont (8-4) last week
A quick start allowed the Mustangs to grab a 17-5 lead after the first quarter against Crowell, but the Wildcats rallied to only trail 25-24 at the half and 43-41 after three quarters.
Brody White led the offensive effort with 20 points, getting help from three teammates with double digits—Mario Silva (12), Del Everson (12) and John Wolfforth (10).
