Alvin Herman Jungman, 93, passed away peacefully, Feb. 28, 2021 in Seymour. Funeral Mass was held March 3, 2021 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father John Perikomalayil, Father Bose Jujuvarapu and Deacon Jim Novak officiating. Interment followed in St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery in Rhineland.
Alvin was born April 15, 1927 in Rhineland, to Walter and Annie Jungman. He married Glenna High on March 6, 1950 in Seymour. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service as an Honorable Postmaster, and Catholic Life Insurance agent. He was a Volunteer Fireman, Fire Marshall and Red Cross Volunteer. He also Served in the U. S. Marine Corps.
He is survived by daughters Christy Bickly and husband Kent of Bryan, Holly King of Ruidoso, NM, Jackie Allison and husband Rhea of Oklahoma City, OK, Marty Slaggle and husband Shan of Seymour and Barbie Donnell and husband Shannon of Seymour; sisters-in-law Margaret Jungman and Nancy Heard; 15 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife Glenna; his parents; daughter Vicki Studer; son-in-law Rob King; sisters Clara Herring and Theresa Anderson; brothers Walter Jungman and Joe Jungman.
Services were under the direction of Seymour Memorial Funeral Home.
