MUNDAY—Munday’s Jaxon Bowman posted a 5:26.2 to claim the 1,600 meter race at the opening track event last week in Quanah involving Childress, Crowell, Munday and the host school.
Christian Hernandez (1:03.1) and Riley Hanson (1:04) finished fourth and fifth in the 400 meters while Kean Taylor was 10th at 1:09.2; Rafael Fernandez took fourth in the 300 hurdles with a 49.9; and Kayton Shahan finished ninth in the 100 and 10th in the 200.
In the 1,600 meter relay using the normal 400 lap for each runner, the Moguls’ Chris Garcia, Junior Martinez, Christian Hernandez and Bowman finished fourth.
Running a modified relay of the same distance featuring 200s for first two runners, an 800 for third and a 1,600 lap for fourth, the Moguls clocked a 4:37.6 for third with Garcia, Martinez, Keon Taylor and Juan Rojas running.
Bowman, Martinez, Rojas and Jayton Copeland also placed third in a 4×800 relay, clocking 10:29.3.
