Jack Aldor Nuckols, 95, of Munday passed away March 4, 2021. He was born to Arthur and Georgia Nuckols on July 13, 1925.
He didn’t graduate high school until 2003. He was drafted his senior year into the Armed Services. Jack served two years in the U.S. Army and participated in the Battle of Okinawa in April of 1945. Then he moved back to Seymour where he met the love of his life, Modyne Brown. They married on Feb. 22, 1948 at her sister’s house in Seymour. They would have been married 73 years this year. He managed Goode Farm and Ranch for over 34 years near Goree, where they raised their children. After retirement they established a home in Munday. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
He was known as “Pop Jack” or “Papa” to his grandchildren.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents; sisters Janell Munson and DeeDee Nelson; brothers Jerry Nuckols and Joe Nuckols; daughter Cinda (Nuckols) Letson; and his wife Leona Modyne Nuckols.
Survivors include his son Troy Nuckols and wife Paula of Goree; grandchildren April Barrington and husband Jay of Seymour, Melissa Riddle and significant other Mo Garcia of Lubbock, Jay Fronterhouse and wife Peggy of Seymour, Mandi Gibson and husband Jason of Weatherford, Maci Benet of Weatherford and Brady Foerster and wife Adryn of Weatherford; 19 great grandchildren; and four great great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday, March 6, 2021 at the First United Methodist Church in Munday with Cody Dykes officiating. Interment followed in Henson Cemetery in Red Springs under the direction of McCauley-Smith Funeral Home.
