CHILLICOTHE—The Benjamin Lady Stangs claimed firsts in the 4×200 and 4×400 relays at the Chillicothe Invitational last Thursday, finishing in second place by a 127-107 margin.
Hallie Everson, Braleigh Blanchette, Valeria Zavala and Celestte Doran won the 4×200 (no time listed) while Everson, Zavala, Doran, and Blanchette ran in a different order to post a 4:40.49 in the 4×400.
The Lady Stangs’ Kinsey Benson, Everson, Gracie Layton and Korina Hilario took third in the 4×100 relay at 1:03.12.
“We had a good meet and improved in places, but still have a lot of work before district Wednesday,” Coach Cody Propps said. “We had a lot of individuals earning top placings.”
Celestte Doran was the only individual winner, running a 53.98 in the 300 hurdles, while Blanchette placed second in the 400 (1:11.40), just ahead of teammate Teresa Doran.
Madison Barrientez finished third in the 1,600 (6:48.30) and fourth in the 800 (2:49.40) with teammate Gracie Estrada just one place behind her in both events.
Zavala finished third in the 200 (30.84) and third in the triple jump with a 29-5 effort while Raehanna Hardeman and Emma Hilario got fifth and sixth in the shot put and discus, respectively.
