CHILLICOTHE—Jaxon Bowman scored 38 points with wins in the 800 (2:11.02) and 3,200 (11:40.03), a second in the 1,600 (5:16.34) and a first in the high jump (5-8) to pace the Munday Moguls to the title in the District 16-1A meet here last Thursday, outcoring the Crowell Wildcats, 193-135.
Christopher Garcia, Junior Martinez, Christian Hernandez and Keon Taylor provided Bowman with plenty of help, winning the 4×400 relay in 3:49.05 and finishing second in the 4×100 with 48.25.
In addition, Martinez won the triple jump (39-3.25) and finished fourth in the long jump (18-2) and fourth in the 800 (2:11.02), Hernandez placed second in the long jump (18-9) and third in the 400 (56.45) while Garcia took second in the 400 (54.23) and third in the long jump (18-2.5) and triple jump (37-0).
Kelton Carver won the pole vault at 8-6 while Bryson Wilson won the 300 hurdles (50.46) and the pair teamed with Joe Jasso and John Cooke to advance with a third in the 4×200 relay.
Corbin Rogers captured the shot put with a throw of 45-3 while Justin Tidwell finished third in the same event at 39-3 and fourth in the discus at 97-5.5.
The top four in each event advanced to the area competition April 12 at Phillip McAfee Track in Munday.
