ROBY— The Knox City foursome of Melanie Ruiz, DNae Hacker, Kaylee Kinney and Kyleigh Hernandez posted a 1:52.22 to win the 4×200 relay in the District 15-1A track meet here last week as the Houndettes finished third, trailing Aspermont and Roby.
The same foursome also advanced to the area meet April 12 in Munday with a second in the 4×100 relay with a time of 54.08 while Ruiz and Kinney joined Savannah Walker and Emily Maynard for third in the mile relay.
Ruiz and Kinney also advanced in the long jump and triple jump with seconds while Hernandez joined them with a second in the 200 and a fourth in the triple jump. Ruiz also moved on in the 400.
Madison Espinosa claimed seconds in the 1,600 and 3,200 races with times of 7:08.31 and 15:22 and were joined by teammates Andrea Reyes and Gabby Espinal in advancing to area.
