Knox County residents will have two chances to celebrate our national Independence Day.
In Knox City, celebrations start on Saturday, July 3rd beginning at 4 p.m. until 11 p.m. at Greyhound Stadium. There will be music by the 380 Highway Band, with food vendors, a children’s play area, and fireworks starting at dusk (9:30 p.m.).
In Munday, celebrations continue on Sunday, July 4th. The Moving Munday Forward committee is presenting festivities that start with a Cornhole Tournament at 4 p.m., followed by a cakewalk, music by Diana Sepeda, DJ Tino, and live performances by The Electric Cowboys. There will be a hot dog eating contest, a bounce house, face painting, bingo, food vendors, and a dunking booth with your chance to dunk your favorite school official. Raffles and prizes donated by sponsors of the event will be given away during the day, including three $50 gift cards to Second Avenue Pizzeria. Two tickets to the Texas Rangers vs Oakland A’s baseball game will be given away at the end of the festivities. The finale will a fireworks display to begin at dusk.
