BENJAMIN – County Judge Stan Wojcik advised that as of Monday Aug. 9, only one active Covid patient was in the Knox County Hospital. Last week there were nine active cases, and the previous week seven cases were listed, so the number has decreased locally.
However, Judge Wojcik advised that optimism should be cautious because the number could change. Testing for Covid is not usually done on the weekends, so the number reported on a Monday could go higher as more tests are done during the week.
He said all the reported cases were people that had not been vaccinated.
Calls to the Knox County Hospital were not returned by deadline to update or confirm the number of new cases.
