MUNDAY – The Munday City Council scheduled a public hearing on the 2021 – 2022 budget for the City of Munday, to be held Thursday Aug. 19 at 5 p.m. in the City Council conference room.
Proposed increases in the utility rates are in the budget, with the basic cost for water, sewer and trash going from $62.45 up to $68.45. The reason for the increase is that costs for water and trash have increased. The rates have not increased in three years, while costs have continued to rise. City Manager David Trevino compared the utility costs with surrounding cities and reported the basic utility rates in Munday are lower than Goree and Benjamin, and only slightly higher than Knox City, even after this proposed increase.
