KNOX CITY – The Knox City-O’Brien CISD Board of Trustees met on Tuesday and appointed Jerry Coplen and Lorrie Coop as adjunct faculty members so 4H activities could be covered as extracurricular absences.
The board approved the 2021-2022 Employee Handbook as well as the updated student drug testing policy.
The contract for the Knox County Appraisal District to continue assessing and collecting taxes for the school district was approved, and the board discussed the upcoming budget and tax rate hearing coming up on Aug. 31. Potential amendments to the 2021 budget were reviewed.
In final action, the board discussed free lunches for students through the Community Eligibility Program of the USDA and approved new adult lunch and breakfast prices of $4.25 and $2.85 respectively.
