MUNDAY – Rick Moeller with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) hosted a luncheon at the church of Christ in Munday last Friday Aug. 10 to establish the Munday chapter of the FCA.
Minister Leroy Torres of the church of Christ and Pastor Cody Dykes of the Methodist Church assisted Moeller.
Moeller brought in pizzas and presented an inspirational devotional titled “What’s my purpose in life?”
“The goals of the FCA are to promote integrity, serving, teamwork and excellence” said Moeller. “The FCA works to help student athletes find and improve their self-worth.”
The FCA also conducts summer camps for children with certain illnesses or disabilities.
Moeller has roots in this area. He grew up in Haskell, and served as the agricultural teacher in Munday for 15 years, then the elementary principal one year. He was in Knox City nine years; two years as a teacher, then seven years as high school principal. He later served as superintendent for two years in the Paint Creek school and superintendent in the Rule school for two years.
Moeller invites all students to the next meeting at a date to be announced soon.
