“Libraries are not made; they grow. Good as it is to inherit a library, it is better to collect one.” — Augustine Birrell

Creating a space to house the wonderful collection of books in a library is never ending. To care for books and create an inviting space is the future goal of our library. Our first steps to start achieving this goal has begun. The Munday City - County Library would like to thank Anjie Anderson for volunteering her time and organization skills to our young reader’s room (green room). She worked diligently to create an organized room. Every book was placed in its new home and clearly labeled.

It’s easy to make your own natural oat milk

I must admit, I kind of agreed with the naysayers who claimed the term “milk” should not be used to describe a beverage that is derived from plants. Nut milks like cashew and almond, oat milk, and soy milk are only a few of the many varieties that have gained popularity of late.

Favorite things about Hong Kong - Part II

Body
Last month, I wrote about some of my favorite things about Hong Kong – the view, the food, the bargains, access to the mainland, the great hotels, and other things – but how about some LEAST favorite things, even if that does make the title a little misleading. No city is perfect all the time, right? In Part I, I listed the ease of traveling to Hong Kong from the mainland, specifically from Shenzhen, by fast train, and that is a favorite thing about Hong Kong. Arriving at the train station in Hong Kong is also good. It’s a busy place, but it’s in a good location, comfortable, clean, duty-free stores, and so forth, BUT …there’s always a“BUT”, right?

“Libraries are really wonderful. They’re better than bookshops even. I mean bookshops make a profit by selling you books, but libraries just sit there lending you books quietly out of the goodness of their hearts.” - Jo Walton
