Munday City Council introduces new police chief

MUNDAY – The Munday City Council met in regular session on Mar. 12 and introduced newly hired Chief of Police Dusty Bryant. Chief Bryant is familiar with the area as he was Police Chief in Crowell. He served a short stint in the Houston police force prior to coming to Munday. The Bryant family decided the small-town environment is better suited for their family. The family has two children that will be in the Munday school district when the next school “I’m glad to be back in this part of the country,” said Bryant. “We have a deputy in mind that will be graduating from the academy in August and hope to bring him here.”

Mustangs Coach Hayes at center of departure rumors

Is Benjamin’s Coach Nathan Hayes leaving for other pastures? Talk began to swirl this week on social media following a post from the high school sports website Big Country Blitz that Hayes was entertaining an offer from Baird ISD to join their staff as facilities director and athletic director. If the rumor were true, Hayes would likely take two talented Benjamin multi-sport players—his sons Tallon and Keegan— with him, the site speculated.

Family Dollar – Dollar Tree store closing
