Summer draws to a close and back to school is fixing to be in full swing. The Knox City Police Department is encouraging everyone to be watchful for school zones, no talking or texting on your cellphone, be courteous to others, and keep an eye out for children walking and riding bicycles to and from school. There will be law enforcement present during the school year and will enforce all violations.
Knox City/O’Brien CISD and Knox City Police Department during the summer have conducted continuous training for all personel on potential crisis situations and enact efforts of prevention. Knox City Police Department and the school district want to let everyone know the students, staff, families and community members are dedicated to protecting all students while in school. We want to reassure if a crisis occurs within our schools, there will be no hesitation, response will be swift, aggressive, and unrelenting to prevent further violence and neutralize the situation.
Something to keep in mind and very important to students, staff and community members is to report behavioral concerns, whether they see them on-line or in-person. It has been discovered that criminals who want to cause harm either made threats online, told someone their intentions, or displayed other acts of mental instability.
Knox City/O’Brien school administration and Knox City Police Department have taken all necessary and beyond safety steps to keep your school children safe and protected when in class.
Knox City Police Department has the greatest working relations with the school district and congratulate the administration in taking all the steps necessary to keep your children in a safe and healthy learning environment.
