Body MUNDAY – Moguls from past and present celebrated Homecoming last weekend with many events. The events started Friday Sept.16 with alumni registration by the welcoming crew of Paula Nucklos, Jo Marie Clark and Judy Wilde.

Munday utility rates to increase

Body MUNDAY – The City Council met in regular monthly session on Sept. 13 and reviewed the budget and tax rates for 2022-2023. The new budget takes into account increased costs for supplying water.

Body GUTHRIE—The Knox City Greyhounds boys’ Cross Country runners competed in Guthrie at their annual Rattlesnake Run where the Hounds brought home second place as a team, following behind 2A Quanah, and the Runner-Up plaque.

Food prices increase

Body KNOX COUNTY – According to data released last week by the Bureau of Labor Statistics, inflation may be slowing, but food prices are still through the roof. Food costs spiked 11.4% over the past year, the largest annual increase since May 1979.

Gold Star Mother’s Day this Sunday

Body KNOX COUNTY – Gold Star Mother’s Day falls on Sept. 25 this year. It is traditionally observed on the last Sunday in September. The day is for honoring families of those who have received the Gold Star – the military award no one wants.
