PEGGY ANN GRINDSTAFF
Peggy Ann (Edge) Grindstaff, 85, a resident of Knox City for more than 65 years, passed away Thursday, Dec. 29, 2022. A memorial graveside service will be held Saturday, Jan. 7, 2023, at 2 p.m., at the Knox City Cemetery with Mr. Mike Burkham officiating under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes. A visitation will be held from 6-7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 6, 2023, at the funeral home, 201 Ave A, Knox City, TX.
Peggy was born March 10, 1937, in Knox City to Bertha Fritts and William Edge. She married John Grindstaff, Jr on June 13, 1954, in O’Brien. Peggy enjoyed spending her weekends and holidays at the lake with her family. She liked to cook, play Bridge, and when she was younger she and John enjoyed bowling. She was a member of the Knox City Church of Christ.
She is survived by her two daughters Mona Denise Luckenbach and husband Jay of Johnson City, and Tamie Renee Weiershausen and husband Adlai, of O’Brien; two granddaughters Audra Nicole Casino and husband Dave of Seymour, and Alyssa Simone Garrett and husband Ben of Austin; grandson Landon Reece Weiershausen of Houston; three great grandsons Evan Mark Casino of Seymour, Anson John Weiershausen and Knox George Weiershausen, both of Houston; great - granddaughter Emerson June Garrett of Austin; a special niece Linda Elledge of Farmington, NM; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents Bertha and William Edge; husband John Grindstaff, Jr; sister Willie Ola Young; brother Pete Edge; and a special nephew Dearl Edge.
