Billy Kirk Trosper, 60, of Munday, passed away peacefully at home on Nov. 8, 2024. Billy was born on Dec. 10th, 1963 to Billy Dale and Carolyn Sue (Richardson) Trosper. Kirk was raised in Childress. He graduated from Childress High School in 1982 and then joined the United States Army, serving for two years as Military Police. Upon discharge Kirk moved to Quanah and began his career with The Texas Department of Transportation. After several years, he transferred to Munday where he made his permanent home and retired from TxDOT after 28 years of service.

As a child Kirk became an avid reader and loved a good mystery, thriller or anything pertaining to history. His love of reading continued throughout his life.

Kirk was a generous, fun-loving person who loved his dogs referring to them as his “kids”. Over the years he rescued several dogs, took them in and loved each one dearly.

Kirk’s greatest love was hitting the open road on one of his many motorcycles. He felt at peace while riding and said there was nothing like it.

He will be remembered as a kind-hearted loving man who will be missed by his family and many friends.

Kirk was preceded in death by his father Bill Trosper; brother Keith Trosper; grandparents Frank Trosper, Lois Trosper, Afton Richardson, Wanna Richardson. Left behind to cherish his memory; mother Sue Trosper; son Bradley Barber; sisters Vicki Goodwin and husband Mike, Pam Gambol and husband Larry, Kathy Lane and husband Rickey; brother Mike Trosper and wife Shirley; sister in law Lisa Trosper, and also many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Cremation arrangements are in the care of McCauley-Smith Funeral Home in Munday.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, Nov. 15th, 2024 at 1:30 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Childress (300 Ave C NW).
